I wonder how many of those EV engineers had their college loans “forgiven”by the biden maladministration?

Soon you will be able to pick up an electric car for peanuts. What are they going to do? Just drive them to the landfill and push em in? The Electric car thing was founded on a fantasy. Once people woke up from the media blitz “Global Warming” fear, it just dies a slow death. Its like a religion—pay, pay, pray, pray pray and when you die you go to heaven and escape hell. But do you? Will God punch you golden ticket? With global warming its live like a peasant, eat bugs, pay pay and pay for electric power and your great grandchildren will live in a clean, beautiful world—or not. Its a scam.

I drive a small 1995 Japanese 4dr car and a 2000 Japanese small pickup. Keep them running.

*Soon you will be able to pick up an electric car for peanuts.*

Send them to Cuba. If they can keep their 60 year old cars running with Russian parts they’ve gotta be pretty resourceful.

Thank you all for your help.

For whatever reason I forgot the total cost of research, promotion and the rest in understanding the Ford loss per vehicle.

I think even with the waste of taxpayer money for the EV fiasco the mission will fail.

My earlier thought was it would make it as Biden destroyed the ability of the gasoline industry and gas powered vehicle companies to go on. That is still a problem as he and Newsom want to “Californicate” the US with mandatory limits and taxes on their opponents. But people will start to fight with a backlash, I believe.

Other than Tesla anyone that has invested in EVs in the US has lost money whether it be the manufacturer, dealer, businesses like Hertz buying them, the taxpayer, etc.

It has been said that Ford could cut their losses on EV sales, by buying and reselling Tesla EVs. Instead of losing $132,000 on each Ford EV, they might make a few dollars on a markup of the Tesla.

How much of that is amortizing tooling and R & D costs? The first Saturns sold lost almost as much money with that kind of factoring. Now, if they NEVER sell, you have an EV version of the Edsel.

That's been my question. The first EVERYTHING "lost" money. The real decider (ignoring qty for now), is are they making money on fabrication and operations, or is that also actually losing per vehicle?

“It’s called creative accounting. They figure in how much profit they should have made and calculate the losses based on that figure instead of real life costs and sales. They have a fancy name for this accounting (the name escapes me right now) and it doesn’t seem legal but they do it anyways.”

What in the world are you talking about?

I read it on the internet. It has to be true.

That’s trickier in northern areas with road salt. Mass production Japanese cars and trucks are okay for getting body parts whenneeded.

Is that fancy similar to the phrase “cooking the books”?

That’s what they get for playing along with Biden and the globalist “climate change” BS.

No sympathy here.
