RE: If you’re not a US citizen, why should you have any input on how the country is governed?

Well, the question is why is such a federal law necessary? I have one word for it — PRE-EMPTION.

There are some cities in the United States that allow non-citizens to vote in local elections. This is typically limited to school board elections and other local matters. However, non-citizens are not allowed to vote in federal or state elections.

Some cities where non-citizens are allowed to vote in local elections include San Francisco, Chicago, New York City ( my neck of the woods) , and Takoma Park, Maryland. There may be other cities with similar policies, but the list is not exhaustive.

But who’s to say that it would not MORPH eventually to the city, state and eventually, Federal level?

We laugh at many things as highly unlikely in the past and look at what we have today.

It is difficult to imagine Leftists high-fiving each other and exclaiming “This is so easy! Why didn’t we do this forty years ago?”
