Portion of I-95 to remain closed for several days after tractor-trailer carrying thousands of gallons of gasoline explodes into massive inferno

As someone that made the nightmarish commute for 5 years from upstate CT to Stamford, the "other " routes are the already jammed Merrit Parkway, and the always delightful US RTE 1.
About 15 miles up the road this striech of 95 had a bridge collapse, 20 or so years ago.
Day-um! That thing went up like a Tesla battery!
Right underneath an overpass just like that Los Angeles fire a while back that destroyed that infrastructure.
Seems oddly coincidental.
I remember reading about that. A span of the Mianus River Bridge dropped into the river late at night in 1983, killing several people.
Why does this always happen at underpasses.
How will the Elites get their gasoline when they make us drive explosive EVs ?
As opposed to a non-firey inferno? Or a somewhat firey inferno? Sheesh, who edits this stuff.
Best post of the Day. I award you 4 Internets.
Like a disco inferno.
Not so much hot, as cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5lSeYd_riw
At least we can rest assured that the Secretary of Transportation is keeping everyone safe. He’s not distracted by cramming things up his backside or anything like that.
ports, highways...next up, fiber cables (remember the NASDAQ sqirrels?)
Yeah. Like a Disco Inferno.
Yeah. Like a Disco Inferno.
I also thought it was odd that the fire was right under a bridge.
Seems like there’s a lot of that, more than you’d expect form just coincidence. But the thought that someone is deliberately starting fires like that under bridges doesn’t really make sense.
“Fiery inferno”?
Is there any other kind?
In any case, I read the article. Looks bad, especially for the overpass.
Exactly. There is no other route. I used to drive from Queens to Milford on Fridays. There are no good days on this stretch.
It happens at overpasses, because that’s where there are big concrete pillars for the trailer to crash into.
Looks conveniently located next to
Norwalk Fire Department Station 2/
Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Office
I drove over that bridge (Cos Cob?) that collapsed the day before it went down.
