Message: We are appalled the Harrison County Board of Education barred dissenting students from competitions after their rightful protests at the April 18 shot put event.
Five girls from Lincoln Middle School bravely stepped up to the circle for their turn before refusing to throw in the shot put event.
While West Virginia law bans transgender girls from playing on girls’ sports teams, a recent federal appeals court ruled that the law couldn’t lawfully be applied to the eighth-grader on puberty blockers.
This is, of course, insane. And the state is fighting back against the decision. At least you know some of us are speaking up where the banned students cannot.
