Looks like a smart way to cook them When our kids were Little I have a friend who always cooked her hotdogs in a small crockpot
they were perfect that way but then she would put them briefly on a hot frying pan to get that char grill appearance
WRONG! The ONLY correct way to cook a hot dog is on a charcoal grill (real charcoal) until it is burnt beyond recognition.
