Just like 1966-1967 and the SWINE.

Reminds me of the old Li’l Abner comic strip from 1966 in which the Students Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything (S.W.I.N.E.) take over the campus.
The terrified University Regents decide to sell the University! The only buyers were the Mafia who brings in the mob enforcers.
Here come the SWINE protesting!
I still get a thrill remembering how the leader of the S.W.I.N.E. used his front teeth to assault the brass knuckles of the mob enforcers. Who says brass won’t make a spark! These did. Big ones at that!
Anyone else remember that old comic strip? Could easily be reprinted today with no changes.

The mafia would probably turn out higher quality graduates.

It was great.

Al Capp was a master at humor and the speeches he was personally giving on college campuses opposing the Communists, anti-war thugs, and immoral hippies were extremely effective. The Left had to do something!

So they accused him of sexual peccadillos with some radical female students. There was little evidence but lots of Leftist outrage, demonstrations, and violence. The resulting moral uproar by the Leftist media and their propaganda organs was deafening. They bullied most newspapers to suspend his comic strips immediately. His reputation and livelihood was ruined by the manufactured "scandal" and associated lawsuits and he quickly went bankrupt and faded from the scene. It was a 1960s version of being "Donald Trumped" except Capp was not financially able to fight the Marxist mobs and media..

At least that's how I remembered it.
