I’m not okay with killing your dog when there is a better solution-like let a breed specific rescue place train the dog and find an owner who knows enough to keep a bird dog away from chickens at the least. Those places have existed for at least 30 years-even here in the boonies. But if she just had to have the dog dead-let a vet do it-not the owner in anger-that is just not good...

And no, I’m not a city person-I’ve been in the country, around livestock most of my life, and I know enough not to have a pointer-or any other dog- around chickens, or off leash at all outside your fence unless you are on a hunt...

Where I live we don’t have fences, my dogs roam free, they protect my home. If by chance they roam to far and attack some neighbors chickens and they shot them, I would understand.But they don’t roam far, they stay close to home and protect the homestead.
