That's a lie because those in Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk overwhelming voted for Yanukovych.

They had EVERY right to seek independence after an illegal coup throw Yanukovych out of office and/or join the Russian Federation.

Illegal coups are the opposite of democracy.

The ethnic Russian population was under no obligation to be persecuted and killed by Ukrainian nationalists that came to power illegally.
