For some people, the 1970’s Soviet Union is forever.
I do not believe that Putin has expansionist intentions. I think the idea of him expanding Russia is a misreading on what he wants.

Russia is nothing close to the former USSR-
They are nowhere near the same threat.
He would love to expand his sphere of influence-his intentions are highly dependent on his pocketbook.
