Logical question: if the intent of background checks is to make sure nobody bad can purchase guns, why not give the person who submits to and passes a background check an identification card stating so? I go to buy a gun, they do a background check, then I’m good for 1, 2, 5 years (whatever) and I simply show my card to the seller, whether they are a dealer or private person, and I’m good. No additional checks needed. The only reason they want a check on every purchase is to create a registry, which, not coincidentally, is why they are cracking down on private sales.
The best thing would be to, disband the entire department and have the current employees learn to code.
The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there are not enough criminals, tyrants make them.. Tyrants declare so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.. ~Ayn Rand..
