Eh, the “crime” is misbooking an expense as an expense, when it (supposedly) should have been a campaign expense. This is wrong, as this was just an expense, not a campaign expense so it was booked correctly, but the distinction the author is trying to make is incorrect.

but that is a misdemeanor and the statute of limitations had expired. They had to manufacture another crime that this was supposedly to conceal in order to have a viable felony.
When our federal level politicians have to use the taxpayer funded secret hush fund to pay to those accusing them of some sexual peccadillo, how do they account for it in the ‘books’ ????
