Maps like that make me believe the Electoral College should be refined down further, and force candidates to win the majority of their state's counties/parishes.

The urban areas don't need to have that much power and influence over the rest of the state.

A very few States assign their electoral votes by Congressional District, with the remaining two votes going to the overall State winner. States like California, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, will never do this ... it would go against the interests of their respective State governments.
