Four published books, debate trophies, perfect attendance and a 100 GPA weren’t enough to get a Queens eighth-grader into her dream high school.
Kristina Raevsky, 14, found out on March 7 she wasn’t accepted to Townsend Harris High School in Flushing because of a lottery system that grouped her perfect test scores with kids who scored over a 94.
“I was shocked,” Raevsky told The Post. “Everyone I told said, ‘How is this possible?’ And I told them, ‘I don’t know, it isn’t me that is the problem. The system is the problem. “Prior to the lottery, before COVID, my mindset was, ‘Well, I have a 100 average, I’m at the top of my class, I have perfect attendance, and I did well on the state tests . . . what could possibly go wrong?'”

It’s because you’re white, kid.
Move!!! Move to a better city and school options. Else, lower expectations, give up.
She should finish high school, skip college, and enter the real world. She'll do far better in life.
Yup. Diversity and inclusion doesn’t include white people.

Worse than white, Jewish.
Why she’d want to go to a school that inevitably would teach that she’s evil is beyond me. She’ll be better off almost anywhere else.
Sue the school for an obscenely amount of money. Once you group in a lottery, it is no longer a lottery.
You can bet your bippy that the political leaders don’t have their children do lotteries.
The left does not like merit because they prefer force. They may not like force so much if it is used against them. They may cry “not fair”, but I hope no one forgets that it is just turnabout and that it is accepted as fair play.
She’s way better off in parochial school.
Soooo...who’d your mom and dad vote for?
Looking at her last name, could be because she’s the ‘wrong’ religion.
Gotta keep up, kid. You’re screwed. Talk to the Whites and Asians who were cheated out of acceptance to TJ Science & Tech High School in Annandale, VA. They may have won a court case since but it’s too late for the ones who got hosed and it’s VA, not NY. NY would fight a loss like that tooth and nail.
What is a “100 GPA”?
Sorry kid wrong color
democRATS, that’s what can go wrong...
You’re learning early why you and your parents should not vote for Democrats.
Bingo! And yet they may never make that connection even though they probably belong to the smartest group of people on the planet.

That confused me, too. A GPA is normally based on a 0 to 4 scale. Some schools give another point for work in an honors class. So an “A” in an honors class would be worth 5 points.
I’m guessing that a “100 GPA” means that all her grades were 100%, perfect scores. But that’s just a guess.
