KILLEEN, Texas — Anyone who decides to visit Ferrari-Pizza Pasta Subs in Killeen will have the chance to order some Italian cuisine with a side of vulgar decorations.
Ferrari owner Robert Ferrari told 6 News his restaurant opened in 1958.
"I'm from New York and most of my customers come from the North to get true Italian food from me here," Ferrari shared.
In his restaurant, Ferrari allows customers from all across Central Texas to bring in posters, signs and memorabilia for him to put up on his restaurant walls.
These posters, signs and memorabilia are spread all across the restaurant and range from harsh jokes about women to profanity to photos mocking former presidents.
Some deem the restaurant's display as offensive, disrespectful or inappropriate.
Leon Lattanzio visited Killeen from Germany to meet his family in late March and said he has never witnessed such hate in his life.
"Even in Europe you cannot show hate like that in a public place, so this was not normal for us," Lattanzio explained.
Lattanzio and his brother Luis decided to leave the restaurant after 10 minutes and did not order anything.
Ferrari said he has freedom of speech and is able to post whatever he wants in his establishment.
"God gave us freedom of speech and freedom of choice," Ferrari said. "You can read a sentence and take it how you want to take it and I can do the same."

Isn't that an Italian name?
Purr baby.
Pasta la vista!
What an udderly ridiculous thing to say.
EC
“The owner ... has no right to make others pay to be in his restaurant.”
That’s some real clear idiot thinking rite there.
Mr L should read german history for some great examples of hate. What a putz.
-Five Star reviews
-Bread baked on site
-Patrons must turn cell phones off
-No website
-Some warnings about images of half-dressed women and adult jokes tacked to the walls
-The owner "honestly just doesn't give a hoot about anything"
Why can't I have a place like this in my neighborhood?
LOL...
From the first paragraph of Her Honor’s statement, I highly suspected what I would find if I searched on her name.
‘Our city?’ KMA.
Hop a plane in Texas with the illegals and go to NYC..!!!
Message to Leon: You are not in Europe and especially not in Germany. We have a First Amendment here. It means exactly what it says. If you don’t like somebody else’s speech, you are free to leave, to not frequent that business, to use your right of free speech to counter somebody else’s views, etc. What you are not allowed to do is cry that something you don’t like is “hateful” and therefore on that basis have the government censor anyone. Yes, this specifically means you are going to be exposed to opinions you don’t like. You have no right to not be offended. You’re just going to have to hike up your big girl panties and deal with it.
And if allowed to censor it, they inevitably define "hate speech" as anything they happen to disagree with.
From what I saw there was a poster listing a whole lot of famous people who were shot by muslims. Also a corny joke not offensive at all.
I don’t know why that idiot says even in Europe. Is the word even doesn’t belong there, You’re a dozen have free speech and that’s all there is to it.
What really troubles me is that the founding fathers were profoundly decent and wise men. They had extremely important reasons for acknowledging our god-given rights
But I never see articles with an intelligent analysis of why free speech is so important.
Agree totally, there should be no such thing in law.
Europe doesn’t have Free Speech and that’s all there is to it.
God forbid we should have a poster listing all the people that have been murdered by radical Muslims.
But every day I read articles and comments and see movies that state straight out that Christianity is evil.
“Yes, but the Poles attacked our radio station!”
“Even in Europe you cannot show hate like that…”
“Hate” is a word that has been dumbed down to the point of stupidity.
Krautish blockheads have no concept of free speech. Their official national dance is the goose-step.
I read some of the Yelp reviews... One idiot liberal from Austin was “offended”... Everyone else appears to love the place.
If I’m even down that way again... Damn right I’m stopping in. :-)
I know, right?
I need to open up a Tex-Mex/BBQ place and just call it “Offended”.
Kitchy stuff all over the walls like that. Chili with beans and WITHOUT beans (like the Gods intended). Texas and Carolina BBQ’d meats. NO VEGAN OPTIONS AT ALL and instructions to the wait staff to openly mock and ridicule anyone asking for such.
Her babies will be well fed ... if she can persuade any man to cooperate.
