I once took an Australian kid - daughter’s boyfriend - to the range for his first time. He had NEVER shot a gun. ANY gun. his handling, aim, lack of flinching and total confidence had him shooting a 6” .44 Maghum more accurately than I ever could within an hour of arrival. Said he’d only ever played first-person shooter video games.
The Model 29 and 27 N-frames I find are just too YUGE for most women’s hands and I never thought to bring one to the range though I own several (S-models through 329PD airweight). Next time maybe.
The allure of power you can hold in your hand is very intense.
VIZ - “TRANS” fad?
I never liked the ergonomics of N frame S&Ws. The Bisley grip availlable on the Blackhawks is quite nice, and is comfortable to shoot as my previous observation bears out. Some custom revolver builders that employ heavy proprietary loads only use Bisley frames for their creations.
Some people think Bisleys are strange-looking, but I say that form follows function, so get over it.
