We got tired of their new “bean counting “ BS and retired or went elsewhere.
I spent over twenty years at Boeing, as did many of my family.
We just got tired of “Bean counters” telling us how to build airplanes. Engineers, technicians, and skilled machinists build airplanes. Politics and “Bean counters” do not.
I used to say that I never knew an accountant, auditor, analyst or management conslutant that ever drilled and completed an oil or gas well, built a gas plant, pipeline, platform or other facility. I offered to take some of them with me on some of my week long all nighters but never got any takers.
None of the execs are engineers nor do they work where the planes are made.

The same thing is happening to healthcare. People (almost always non-physicians) who have no clue what good medicine is are making the decisions. It's sad, and very dangerous.
It’s always surprising to me when an engineering company hires a non-engineer as CEO. Just doesn’t seem to be a smart move.
Lockheed Missiles and Space Company in Sunnyvale, CA in the ‘80s and ‘90s had the same infestation of “bean counters”.
Glad I am retired!
Mr. GG2 spent 7 years with Boeing in Everett. He got slapped down a couple of times for pointing out problems management didn’t want to hear. He also designed and made a tool to install some difficult part. When he was laid off he planned to patent the tool for sale. Boeing told him it was theirs since he made it with materials at work so on his last day he took a hack saw and cut it up into pieces and threw it in a garbage can.
