SM-3s are the shipboard part of the missile defense system - remember when they tested it (and the upgraded Aegis system) against a dead intel satellite? I suspect they used it against Iran's ballistic missiles, not drones.
Yup, a fact likely missed by most of our armchair experts. The attack was drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles combined.
