I thought they were somewhat upscale for quick service.
Now if the Family Dollar shuts down they might be in trouble.
They are upscale. But I’ve never been a big fan. They’re expensive and the last time I was there, their “fresh cooked” bacon was undercooked and tasted like it was cooked the day before. Kinda ruined it for me. HOWEVER...the wife and our adult kids like Panera, so I go along to get along. I will say some of their pastries are great (but expensive!).
