The fight didn't happen at school, it was on a public sidewalk around a mile away.

Most times when someone is suspended, its a minimum amount of time[1 week, or so], one day is a odd amount, and seems too small for a penalty. I suspect Kaylee was still suspended from school and met up with the other gang to fight over what girls fight over. Prior article says she was suspended the day prior to the injury fight.

Yes, one day is odd and usually parents are notified by a letter about WHY their child is suspended.

I was wrong re where it happened; however, Kaylee was back at school, I think.

Okay, I reread the article...there was a FIGHT AT SCHOOL ( physical altercation), the week before, between Kaylee and a friend of the girl who almost beat her to death, for which she was suspended.

The article doesn't give an exact timeline, so whether she was back in school or not, really doesn't matter, since the texting between the two, which went on for some time ( says her father ) led to them deciding to meet face to face at an appointed time and I guess place, to have it out in a physical fight.

The articles about this have been all over the place. Early on, it was claimed that the fight was over a boy. That obviously, from what I have gleaned, may NOT be true at all.

The article euphemistically said that there were two groups of girls. each in a "friend clique", which sounds more like they were in 2 different GANGS. But whatever any one wants to call it, NONE of this should ever have happened.
