One of the worst kept secrets in Washington is no one actually knows just how much money the United States has spent in support of Ukraine. Over the past year, however, conservatives in Congress have been pushing President Joe Biden and his administration for the real number, and they’re finally getting some answers. In a letter sent to Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young on Tuesday, Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, along with Sens. Roger Marshall, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and twelve other members of Congress, chronicled the immense difficulty Congress has had in getting what should be readily available information from the Biden administration.

The only way to get a true accounting of the hundreds of billions actually wasted on the Uke CF would require audits of the entire MIC along with all DC and Uke oligarch offshore accounts.

As I’ve noted, should Trump make it back to the White House, the $100B or so will wind up actually being $500B or more. These people DO NOT believe that they will EVER be held accountable - and we can thank, of all people, former President Bush Jr., with his NEW TONE, which meant giving all of Clinton’s crooks a free pass.

The real reason there are no regular order appropriations bills for agency budgets before congress is because to do so the agencies would have to know what they are spending it on and how much!??!! They would have to present that spending request and answer questions. They have absolutely no clue on what they are spending it on, or how much goes to where?
No more.

The gaps cited seem very minor.
A large part of the fuzziness seems likely to be in the pricing of equipment transfers. - What should a 20 year old Humvee or 155mm shell be priced at, in the aid accounting? The DOD, and the rest of the Fedgov, uses very whimsical accounting standards in all this, its not GAAP.
And this, btw, is not new. Lend lease accpunting in WW2 was notoriously arbitrary. Some US aid was given at scrap value, some at inflated book value.
