I understand our cynicism here, but maybe the bill wasn’t all that bad. My position is, I admit, extreme, which is that it is necessary to risk terror attacks in order to keep the government from destroying our rights. But I’m not elected, and so I don’t have to answer for not supporting FISA when the Sears Tower (or something like it) gets taken down.
But then again, I know far more victims of home accidents than people killed or injured by terrorists.

Johnson has been obviously compromised. He keeled quick. Must have had some stuff that would make him look like a hypocrite on him.
Good point. Should be made by the GOP to the media and on the campaign trail by Trump. The Administration shouldn’t be letting in 10 million people without vetting and then complaining that they need to spy on every American without due process.

Apparently the democrats listened to Trump. They all voted to kill it, yet just 19 Rs joined them. Up is down, left is right. FISA has been transformed into a political weapon, and needs to die.
I agree. I also see that as the reason for all the early outs by some of the Reps.
