Russia wanted certain assurances concerning a country, which is, after all, right on its border, and the war could have been avoided but that was nixed by Zelensky's Deep State handlers since the aim is to bring Russia to its knees, militarily and financially, which in turn, opens the door for Putin's removal. Problem is, Russia won't go quietly. When the USSR attempted to station missiles on Cuba in 1962, we saw how the USA reacted, yet you expect NATO to be able to dictate terms in Ukraine with no consequences?

Nonsense. The Ukrainians gave up all their nuclear weapons, ICBMs, SRBMs, strategic bombers etc just to keep the Russians happy. To say they were a threat to Russia is laughable.
