My understanding is that if they admit anything, it will mean prison. So, you are not likely going to get an admission from any of them, which is unfortunate.
That gives a better perspective as to the seriousness of the issue and why it is not just some personal embarrassment or humiliation involved if refusing to be blackmailed. It is that actual incarceration for some crime which the target has no chance of defense against. I wonder if some have been made public examples of over the years, not so the blackmail angle is glaring, but so the rest of congress keeps falling in line?
