At this point some could argue all US Dollars are fake
I had a cousin around 2010, who’d gone to the bank to get her monthly ‘walking-around’ money ($300).
Very next stop after the bank was a gas station. Fills up and pays with 2 twenties. Guy checks one....counterfeit. Bank gave it to her. Clerk at station calls local cops...cousin has wait 45 minutes for them to show...some report filled out.
She goes back to the bank to ask WTH, and they denied they’d given her the bill. After that...each time she goes for cash at the bank...she makes them put all the bills through their little machine to prove to her that they are genuine.
