It’s been going on for awhile now. Didn’t anybody notice? At least it will work in our favor in that many voters are stuck with paying so much more for routine items. Think fast food. In and out and cheap-at least it was.
Think of the poor young schmuck that can’t afford to take out the girlfriend he’s trying to impress. Then there’s the $20 calamari appetizer I used to pay $6-8 for.
Fast food wasnt that cheap in the 60's and 70's. I can remember in the 70's My minimum wage job I really couldnt afford KFC, Burger King, or McDonald's on a more than 1 or maybe 2x a week. maybe. Arby's was once a quarter.
I lived off a hostess fruit pie and a strawberry crush for my usual lunch or less.

on even my best day on the job at minimum wage the thought of working at any minimum wage job to make a living NEVER entered my teenage mind. oh hell no!
Yep. My friends and I have been meeting at Lazy Dog restaurant for years for lunch - we always get the lunch specials which were priced at $7.75.
Those same “specials” are now $17.95.
The poor young schmuck would be better off learning to cook and invite the gal over for a quiet romantic dinner with him as the chef. Cooking ain’t rocket science. Our 4th grader made the entire Thanksgiving dinner from scratch without any help one year when I was sick as a dog.
He needs to learn to cook, or be able to afford a meal for two at a nice sit-down quiet restaurant with waitstaff, a full menu of prepared-to-order food, etc. I wasn’t ever impressed by a guy who took me on a burger-and fries date, and don’t know any woman/girl who was. A sit-down pizza-and salad place was okay until I was 18-but not after.
Guys who can cook are sexy-one of the reasons I married my 1st hubby was because he was a good cook, and we cooked together. We also camped and hunted together-I only like macho guys. Also-if the guy cooks, he has the girl/woman right there at his place-makes for easier private conversation and becoming more intimately acquainted if both are so inclined. You can’t do that in comfort in a vehicle with burgers and fries, or at the fast food place...
