And it’s not a part of Russia either. Yet Putin has troops stationed there in another one of his ‘breakaway republics’ he uses to invade neighboring countries.

Same reason they were in Ukraine training their Nazis in early 2015, getting them ready to start their war with Russia: Victoria Nuland.

You don't have to be a member of NATO to work with these US.. There's quite a lot of countries we work with who aren't in NATO (SE Asia, African, South/Central Americas...). We've had a relationship with Moldova pretty much since the USSR dissolved. The National Guard State Partner Program has them working with North Carolina. Since 1999. We didn't just start renting an apartment there as bait for Russia...
