We had a bull elephant come right up to our vehicle at Amboselli National Park in Kenya. The guide warned us to stay silent and still. He rocked the vehicle a bit...not much...and then walked off.

The guide told us that he was in musth...which means that he was looking for lady elephants to "befriend".

Yes, but he may not have been a major player in the herd, a bull elephant in full must will be hyper-aggressive.
