> In the meantime, I’ll let the disgruntled traffic-ticket-pissed-off anti-police folks rant, here. <

The police are losing the support of folks on the left. That’s no surprise at all. Today’s leftists are nothing like the JFK Democrats of old. Today’s leftists want anarchy and then communism.

Here’s my concern. The police are also losing the support of folks on the right. We see that here on Free Republic. And not just with this article. We Freepers believe in the rule of law. One would expect us to be 100% pro-police. But we’re not. There are usually more FR posts questioning (or even denouncing) police behavior than supporting it.

Something is very, very wrong here. It’s a combination of the media slanting things and the police acting badly. Do not discount the latter. There are hundreds of videos of the police casually doing terrible things even when not under pressure.

Sorry for the rant. But there are bad times ahead for the country. The police and the conservative citizens need to trust each other. And that’s not the direction we’re going.

Police are agents of the state. As the state becomes more evil so do the police. Now most governments have strayed far from the founding principles and become more corrupt for it. Police forces reflect that and denying it is just putting your head in the sand.

"Something is very, very wrong here."

That's the one sentence I completely agree with.

Remember; there are constant trolls, masquerading as Freepers, and YT is FULL of edited, selective, and very RARE occurrences of "police misconduct". They are more-than-happy at YT, to post anti-conservative videos, while stifling TONS of videos that they object to (same as any other OWNED media).

I must live a sheltered life, in my 60 years of DRIVING, to have NEVER been "harassed/intimidated" by a LEO. Just my luck, or "the preponderence of the evidence" of PERSONAL EXPERIENCE?

To a LEGITIMATE complainer, get over it, if you got a ticket or got caught, law-breaking.

The hiring practices of police departments must have changed since I was younger.

The police are the modern equivalent of a foreign standing army. Since when has 'conservatism' been trust .gov?

Police are merely unionized government agents. They respond to keep the state in order and to protect the state. They have terms for you and I, 'civilian'. The very nature of a governmental force is how different political factions use them, one group will send them to do raids into your house if there is a rumor of a drug, another faction will have the police stand down while cities burn.

We never gave them immunity, another agent of government via judges has out of thin air granted qualified immunity over them, something our colonial masters could only dream about.

Stop supporting government without fail, and question everything.
