The Bell Curve: Intelligence and Class Structure in American Life is a 1994 book by psychologist Richard J. Herrnstein and political scientist Charles Murray, in which the authors argue that human intelligence is substantially influenced by both inherited and environmental factors
“...school officials lied through their rotten stinking teeth.”
This idea was actually codified in Federal law with Ted Kennedy’s ‘No Child Left Behind’ Act which required that 100% of public school kids be ranked as ‘proficient’ or higher in math, reading and science by a certain date. That date, of course, never arrived because ugly reality showed up long before.
But the point is, they really believe that any disparity in learning ability cannot be due to nature, but rather things like racism, economic status, etc. All of this in spite of the fact that every human has encountered ‘stupid’ people and their opposite, smart people.
