I have my Master’s degree and taught alongside colleagues with PhDs for 8 years. Those were some of the most brain-dead individuals I have ever worked with. They had a lot of book knowledge, but zero common sense and people skills.

My son graduated high school with honors and scored top percentile in the nation on standardized testing. He applied to a few colleges and got accepted at every one, but didn’t go.

At 29, his trade not only has him managing his own crew (also smart, definitely not “links”), but he does job costing, budgeting, planning and much more. He loves his job. Very few of his peers who went to college are working jobs that they love and none get the month of PTO he gets yearly. He has a better income than any of them.

And, yes, his trade has him working for commercial customers in air conditioned environments. Some of his clients have designated office space for him.

It’s funny you should mention welding, he started there as well. He hated it and kept pursuing different trades until he found his niche.

I have read your past posts, and I can tell you that at age 29, my son has much better written communication skills than you. But keep beating that drum that tradesmen are dumb, lol.
