House Intelligence chairman Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face The Nation” that more funding for Ukraine will have “overwhelming support” in Congress.
Partial transcript as follows:
ED O’KEEFE: Thanks for sticking with us. We go now to the Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Ohio Congressman Mike Turner, who joins us this morning from Dayton, Ohio. Congressman- Chairman, good morning to you. Our understanding is that Speaker Johnson plans to hold a vote on funding for Ukraine aid when Congress returns a week from tomorrow. Is that still the plan?

“The remaining rinos have obviously threatened to turn the house over to the Dems.“
I have no doubt this is true. We are going to get screwed but good by a handful of never Trumpers who have all the leverage.
Pathetic. Putin wants to put it on Ukraine or the West generally, and you believe him. But he’s been mixing it up with Muslims for years, so finally ISIS bit back. Simplest explanation is the best, but you believe his narrative. You’re transferring your hatred for Biden to hatred for America.
And you have some insight into the “average Russian”. What a joke. The average Russian is either drunk and poor and quietly resenting the rich Muscovites who have time and money for concerts, or in Ukraine getting shot at.
I’m flattered that the great state of Russia devotes so much time and effort to our little forum. On the other hand, maybe these are losers living in their mother’s basement with nothing else to do. Or maybe it’s a combination of the two.
There are some very bad people in our government now
Very Bad People.
Certainly possible, their enthrallment with memes is a possible clue
lol perhaps, but folks like musk are certainly not, and their influence is major and his manipulation of X to amplify pro Russian anti Ukraine narrative is strong and dangerous.
I have some friends I talk to and you can see it their arguments. A few minutes of counter narrative really causes them issues, but doesn’t change their minds.
Much like the lies about Israel and Gaza ie casualties and why
It’s interesting how the pattern is the same, Russia invaded everyone is outraged and there is massive support and slowly but surly the narrative changes. Same with Israel, it is like the massacre never happened, that Hamas never launched thousands of unguided terror weapons into Israel over the years,
History gets twisted, the aggressors become the victims, and people like tucker feed this
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base - largest in world
Their product is war
Careful - there’s those here who think the crossdressing Comic-In-Chief is the bees knees...

Russia knows how to twist weak / vulnerable minds.
But then, speaking of minds (mine in this case, apparently! - LOL!), why the heck won’t this image scale on FR?

I tried an attempted a scaling factor of “width=800” with no effect, in my preview. Other images (from other websites) scale just fine, as always.)
Image came out fine
Sadly the spending percentage is not a factor of spending less on defense, but so much more on other govt “programs”
The drug of spending to paraphrase Henley has a very strong appeal
What have we got for trillions spent, and the usuals talk about 60 billion as somehow a budget buster.
How much of that and aid given already has been paid for, so is it really “spending”
Bradleys, abrams, Strykers and many other surplus or retired equipment is not a cost
How about the hundreds of aircraft being retired, the usuals will count that as an expense if given to Ukraine
Russian military may not be that good, but their ability to shape public opinion and buy certain people is not, and that is a problem
“Americans in Texas don’t deserve good jobs exporting energy to Europe? Maybe not and those jobs should be in Russia instead?”
Is that why we blew up their pipeline to Germany? I didn’t realize it was for our own good!
Putin blew up the pipeline politically by launching the biggest war in Europe since WW2. But back to the question at hand: would you rather those good jobs in Texas or Russia? That should be an easy question for a patriotic American conservative.
