I would agree that turns for big ships take forever,timing had to be perfect. I wonder if something like that could be programmed into a system? I'm not a computer guy so I don't know.

Anchor was dragging but to think that it got caught on the bottom at the perfect time to make the ship turn is not likely at all.

Was it done by those on the ship,hard to say. Lots of unknowns.

Go to YouTube.

Look up ship fails.

You’ll see hundreds of videos of big ships plowing into stuff—other ships, boats, riverbanks, shipyards, docks, knocking over giant cranes with guys up in the control gantry and below getting killed and squashed. People plowed down by giant waves when ships are launched, canal locks getting rammed and broken, eve dams breached.

People f up a lot more than you thing.
