Man accused of stealing diesel, driving unregistered truck, being in country illegally

A man faces multiple charges after a larceny report in the town of Perth, New York.

On May 12, the Fulton County Sheriff's office investigated a complaint that a man had pumped more than $500 worth of diesel fuel and left without paying. According to the sheriff's office, the driver, identified as Richard A Ruiz-Conyedo, 20, fled the area, but was eventually stopped in Amsterdam with help from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and a Stewart’s employee.

FULTON COUNTY, NY (WRGB) — A man faces multiple charges after a larceny report in the town of Perth, New York.

On May 12, the Fulton County Sheriff's office investigated a complaint that a man had pumped more than $500 worth of diesel fuel and left without paying. According to the sheriff's office, the driver, identified as Richard A Ruiz-Conyedo, 20, fled the area, but was eventually stopped in Amsterdam with help from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and a Stewart’s employee.

It was discovered that the truck he was operating was modified to carry extra diesel fuel and that it was not legally registered. Ruiz-Conyedo was also found to be operating with a suspended driver’s license. After being placed in custody he was also found to be in possession of several forged credit cards.

This is a cultural misunderstanding. Maybe in his country they give diesel fuel away? I think Venezuela basically gave it away free to truck drivers.
