I’ll ask again, what use are the suicide hotlines anymore? Are they completely obsolete? If it’s a “right” for someone to kill themselves with a doctor’s help, isn’t this right being infringed when a phone counselor tries to interfere?

I have bipolar disorder. Extra heavy on the depression.

So many times I've wanted to be dead and beyond the pain.

At times I've tried to act on that.

The disease never goes away completely. You never forget the pain. Especially the things you did while depressed or manic.

I lost a marriage to bipolar disorder, among many other things.

I can understand where this young woman is coming from. Because I've been there.

I am very thankful that I am still here though. With each new day it seems I learn how to deal more with the pain. I've spent half of my life living with this disease and I feel more alive in spite of it than I ever have before. I turn fifty next week and I couldn't be more excited about where God is taking me in my life.

Let me see if I have this clear: Canada will not give a person the death penalty if they have committed a terrible crime? But they will give the death penalty to someone who is innocent for the crime of depression/mental illness?

While I agree with you that suicide is no solution, but imagine being hated by seemingly everybody, and I mean hated enough they would celebrate you being dead, just because you exist. You’ve done nothing wrong and you don’t have a bad word to say about anybody, but everybody hates you. Those who don’t hate you, simply don’t know you.

When you have the combo of ADHD and spectrum, that’s how it is and you are sometimes aware of this, but you don’t have the wherewithal to make it better.

The elimination of those in society that are deemed "unhealthy" by their standards of how someone should live a life should be ALARMING.

It is a slippery slope and my proof is how it was set up to begin with. I don't have to prove anything. They proved it for me.

Only those that were going to die anyway from diseases, cancer and so on were supposed to be eligible. Now it seems as though anyone that may be depressed.

How many mothers have had post partum depression? It's from hormones going insane in a woman's body. Has zero to do with them hating a baby. Are those eligible now? Yes they are.

I watched a video of this clearly disabled woman who could barely speak because of her disabilities and she was saying how alarmed she and others were to discover that her life is meaningless to bureaucracy. She said that she loved her life. Disabilities and all. No one had ever and especially those that love her ever told her that she wasn't good enough to breathe the air or eat the food but now that's not true and it's coming from her Government.

She was afraid that soon she would be told that she had to go.

But this is the end-state of post-Christian Progressivism.

Although just like drug legalization, the target of this is Canada’s white population.

If it was minorities doing this, or overdoing on fentanyl, it would become a “problem” or “crisis” which would have to be reduced.

She probably lives at home because she can’t function outside of a safe environment. She probably would have ended up homeless or dead if she was on her own.

Hitler killed people against their will. These are people who are begging to die due to physical or mental attacks on the body. Huge difference.
