Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is committed to putting a vote for Ukraine funding on the House floor some time after Easter.
“His commitment is to put it on the floor after Easter and we are working on this bill,” McCaul told CBS’s Margaret Brennan on “Face the Nation.”
When pressed further on whether this means they will vote on the bill as soon as April 9 — when the House returns from recess — McCaul just emphasized he would like it done “as soon as possible.” McCaul is the chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and has been a strong supporter of approving additional funding for Ukraine, which has been fighting Russia for more than two years.

We’ve had Republican majorities in recent years, even with Trump and nothing happened. The House has power of the purse, yet they did nothing but talk. Trump’s cut back promises, now says only 200 more miles of border wall needed to finish across the over 2,000 mile southern border. WTF? And I don’t hear or read anything about how and what Trump 2.0 will do beyond that.
Yes, they are all on the same page regarding immigration; just talk different to their constituents.

What are you ranting about? Maybe take a deep breadth and be specific, offer your informed view, lets discuss without insults and ranting.
At this point, there is no longer any argument against demolishing the Republican Party and replacing it with a new party, sterilized of the RINO infection. I’d be very amused to see anyone try to offer a defense of this party now. What does it gain for it to keep hobbling along?
This is what you get when the political consultants’ advice to “move to the middle” and “compromise” prevails, a bunch of worthless, spineless, corrupt idiots who might just as well be democrats. Instead of trying to walk on eggshells and pander to liberal “republicans” in places like the northeast(which just results in morons like Susan Collins), we need a party that will leave those people to the dems (since that’s what they are anyway) and instead grow the ranks with far more conservative voters who are so disillusioned they never vote. Stop trying to win by hoping to scrape a few crumbs from the liberal slice of the pie and instead just grown the whole damned pie and take a much bigger slice of it.
The political conventional wisdom will no longer work (and it hasn’t really worked for many years now). Dems and other liberals (the RINO types) are so brainwashed they’re not persuadable no matter how much you try to pander to them. The political fight today is between anti-Americans (the people just mentioned) and true Americans. We need an American party that is bold, unapologetic, and committed to America First and to America’s founding principles, period. The MAGA movement is the start of that, but the traditional country club, chamber of commerce republicans are just a boat anchor dragging down our efforts. I would advise forgetting they even exist and focusing only on reaching the everyday guy who is more conservative, but has either never been politically active or who is so fed up with the dem/RINO crap that he’s given up on it all.
They’ll still be voting $$ for Ukraine even after Russia completely absorbs the place.

The future of this is probably like Bill Clinton's modest middle class tax cut. That was a campaign promise. Addressing the nation as President, he bit his lip and said he tried, he never tried so hard to do something, but he just can't. And that was the end of the modest middle class tax cut that was never going to happen.
The most realistic scenario if the government became determined to get rid of as many as possible would be self-deportation, i.e. they just leave on their own. They could be encouraged to do that by cutting off all benefits, especially work permits and anything the government pays for. The government always has ways to make people miserable.
There’s your answer. For 20 some I’ve been following it, the mantra has always been “we need to elect republicans, It doesn’t matter they aren’t conservative. once we get a majority, things will change”. Now the party is infested with RINOs and we’re paying price for that kind of thinking.
