I started my subscription to them when I was 19 years old and only one year into my enlistment in 1977. I cancelled them around 1989 when they started getting into the fake climate crap.
For decades my Mom gave me annual subscriptions to Popular Science and Popular Mechanics. Around 1993 I asked her to stop the Popular Science since it became nothing more than the fake science global warming. She kept sending me the Popular Mechanics and I didn't mind much as I garnered a ton of great woodworking projects from them even with their climate hoax articles. When she passed on about 12 years ago I never did renew my subscription and don't even care.
I was a freshman in high school in the early ‘60s. My biology teacher recommended Sci Am. I loved the Amateur Scientist column and even contributed to it a couple of times over the the years. That went mid ‘90s when the whole magazine turned to crap. I do have a disk with all of the Amateur Scientist columns plus I have a binder about 1” thick with the best (per my interests) articles. A once great magazine turned to crap.
