I’m a reasonably intelligent guy, but with examples like this, I simply cannot comprehend how the right ever loses an election. Do we just put forward such piss poor candidates that can’t get their message across? Is it the MSM bias? Or is that women just wanna kill their babies and that over ride everything else?
Well, I certainly am not. That’s all.
The problem is, Conservatives are inclined towards the smallest government possible to fulfill the functions outlined in the Constitution. We value deferment of pleasure to assure the achievement of pleasure whenever it can be pursued in the future. And we value self sufficiency.
Leftists have no guiding mechanisms to lead them along that path.
Apart from the Leftists at the top who view control of people and money as the unspoken goal, Useful Idiot Leftists view government as the solution to the problems we face. To them, size of government is not important. They feel that adherence to Constitutional guidelines is irrelevant. To the Left, self-sufficiency is not viewed as an asset.
And most of all-the LEAST important thing to Leftists is the creation of a self-sustaining, viable government that can be available at any point in the future to facilitate life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness when it becomes a goal of an American Citizen.
Professional Leftists leverage it, and Useful Idiot Leftists worship it: The sacrifice of gain today and now in full exchange for a viable future. They are the fat people who would think nothing of appropriating a farm’s seed corn for next year’s crop to cook for the next few weeks of an easy meal.
That characteristic is endemic to the Left. And they ruthlessly exploit it via mechanisms like reparations or forgiving student loans, to get votes for TODAY.
That is why we have trouble beating them decisively. It is always easier to pander to children than to convince those children to forego a piece of candy today for an endless bag of candy in the future.
Things like the deliberate mass importation of people who do not share American values and may indeed murder Americans for their own reasons is not even on the chart of things that will cause any kind of cognitive dissonance on the Left, never mind a serious or debilitating case of cognitive dissonance.
It is why Leftist women have no problem voting enthusiastically for someone like Ted Kennedy who left a young female employee to drown in his overturned automobile in Chappaquiddick Pond back in 1968 because it might hurt him politically. Sure he caused the death of a young female employee, but he supported the sacrament of abortion.
