Plea deal. The only question I have is whether or not the victim’s family agreed to it. Sometimes they will, especially if the DA says the murderer might get a lesser sentence due to an insanity defense or whatever.
Now, if the DA didn’t bother to follow the wishes of the victim’s family, then the DA is trash, and part of the problem.
