I think the eclipse crosses over Maztalán. Given the choice to watch between Sinaloa & NYC... Mazatlán is safer.

Interesting, I went to Mazatlan to see the 1991 total solar eclipse in July. Got cloudy at the last minute. I was in my MI hometown for the 1994 annular solar eclipse which was kind of cool.

The diminished light during an eclipse looks a lot different than clouds or dusk, everything is brilliantly crisp but darker.

My brother has manufactured solar eclipse filters for almost 40 years. He is operating 24/7 and can’t wait for this to end. He turned me into the science nerd that I am, being 9 years older he got me into astronomy and photography before I was 10.

He can predict trends in his industry tens of thousands of years in the future.
