IMHO, if you dig deeper, you will see that these leftist Jews belong to the "reform" sect, i.e. they aren't Orthodox.

Its the same in the Christian word, people such as myself who belong to more conservative denominations, are also politically conservative, while leftists belong to "progressive" denominations.
