Oh really? Who was arrested AT THE CAPITOL with a gun?
It’s only a proper arrest if they were arrested that day? Why?
What if they are on video and admitted it? Like this guy?
Thanks, that is very interesting. I will have to see if that series is on disc. I will see if my library has or can order the Kauffman book.
Sort of in line of history of the aftermath of the shooting; my husband wanted to visit Fort Jefferson but the opportunity never came.
At that time the home was owned by an elderly couple named Fox who had opened it as a bed and breakfast. I originally visited the place with my mother, got to know the owners, and ended up going to some of their symposiums they held there. They eventually formed Preservation Association For Tudor Hall, but that basically went defunct when both passed away within a short time of each other. They had no wills, and the house was eventually taken over by the county, and I believe it is run as a museum.
Mike used to do the Booth escape tours for The Surratt House in Clinton, Md. I belonged to that organization for several years as well, and attended some of their symposiums. During those events, we usually visited a couple of sites connected with the Booths. Green Mount Cemetery in Baltimore was one. That's where the majority of the Booths are buried, including JWB in an unmarked grave. Conspirators Samual Arnold and Michael O’Laughlin are also buried there.
I never did get to take one of Mike's escape tours, because they were always booked so far ahead, and living in NY State, I was never able to coordinate my vacations with the dates of the tours. They still do give the tours in the fall and spring, but their website is only showing last falls tour which was cancelled for some reason. Nothing available on future tours. Their website shows that last year's symposium was virtual, which is something I wouldn't bother participating in. And the site hasn't been updated regarding any future events of that kind.
He didn’t “defend” the capitol. He helped the insurrection attack lawfully assembled peaceful protesters. They murdered two people, and somehow, still haven’t had to pay for their actions.
Forgot to mention that this TV series is currently airing on AppleTV+ so you won't be able to find it on disc.
Great info wardaddy- going to look up the whistleblower who is not blowing smoke.
Have personally been certain that the mayor Bowser and the corrupt DC machine of judiciary and crooked police were in on all of this, and coordinated by Pelosi (and McConnell) who both fired the Capitol Police heads of the House side and Senate side.. on Jan 7 or 8 2021. This was poorly planned and done complete fraud of the Electoral counting day (in which Pence ignored the already filed 141 challenges to multiple state’s electors/and their count. A travesty.
Thanks for the info- going to find that interview. Your instincts are on target— the junior “chief” in league with the rest of the crooks.
Tucker interviewed Tarik long form but it’s hard to find
Snippets are all over YouTube
How fortunate you are to have seen all that. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, I consider myself very lucky to have met so many nice people during my travels and Civil War research. I still keep in touch with some of them. I lost contact with Mike several years ago unfortunately. I dug out the copy of his book he sent me. I read it years ago when it was published, and am going to try to read it again, in between all my other books, in order to refresh its contents in my brain. I watched the latest episode of "Manhunt" last night, and all I could do was shake my head at several of the scenes. I did some searches for online reviews. Some gave it a thumbs-up and some down. I also went to the IMDb site and checked the reviews for the program there. The majority of the 22 offered so far, were very critical. A large number of them complained about the casting, while others complained about the poor CGI, and scene backgrounds. In last night's episode the backdrop of what was supposed to be a war damaged Richmond was horrible. It looked like the hand painted scenes they use in stage plays.
As a Civil War researcher I think the following may interest you, it was written by my late husband’s ggGrandfather Bradford Foster Thompson.

Thanks! I’ll check it out.
You might also appreciate this copy of a letter he wrote to his wife. The original somehow got out of the family hands. In it he mentions a cousin Orlin Bevier who later was captured and held prisoner at Andersonville where he died.
Thank you. I’m going to read it now.
LOL!! Isn’t it just like a man to tell his wife not to worry about his flannels? In the majority of the letters I’ve read from Civil War soldiers to family at home, they usually ask them to send socks, underwear, and other clothing necessities, and they are also very concerned that their loved ones at home are well and taking care of themselves.
