The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, virtually addressed Republican senators in Washington on Wednesday, days after the chamber’s majority leader, the Democrat Chuck Schumer, called him an impediment to peace in an unsparing floor speech. The Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, told reporters, shortly after leaving the Senate Republicans’ policy lunch, that Netanyahu joined the gathering via video link, delivered a presentation, and answered questions.

We don't have to. We normally give aid to control Israel and the other countries in the region.

Currently? None that I can think of. Rahm Emmanuel was once a congressman and mayor of Chicago. Today, he is an ambassador to South Korea?

All alliances affect policy. The US has overthrown Israeli government and regularly interferes in Israeli elections.

Domestically? Israeli Arabs mostly don't want to be under PA or Hamas rule. Solving Gaza is no small matter. Destroy Hamas arm anti-Hamas forces. Get help rebuilding from Arab world. Maintain partial control of Gaza at least for another generation until a new generation can take over.

1. You don't have to see Jews as the elect to support Israel.
2. I wouldn't presume to tell you what to believe. I'd love a Third Temple to be built in my lifetime.
