Ukraine is running so low on ammunition that it will run out of air defence missiles to defend its cities by the end of the month, according to reports.
Supplies of missiles defending cities such as Odesa – where 20 people were killed on Friday – are dwindling fast, according to Ukrainian sources quoted by The Washington Post.
That means that instead of trying to shoot down four out of five Russian missiles as it does now, Ukraine will soon have to ration its air defence systems to shooting down just one in five.
This will have a “significant effect on Ukraine’s urban centres”, The Washington Post quoted two Ukrainian officials as telling US officials at a security conference this year.
Politicians in the US are locked in a fierce debate on whether to maintain military aid to Ukraine, which currently stands at around £31.3 billion.
This week Viktor Orban, Hungary’s Prime Minister, said that Donald Trump, the presumed Republican candidate at this year’s US presidential election had told him that he would not give any more cash to Ukraine.

When haven’t they been low?
Maybe the members of the church of Worship Joe Biden and the Biden Brigade will help them out. They appear to have gotten lockjaw.
We gave them everything we had in our stockpile. And we haven’t done anything in our factories. The Russians put their economy on a war footing in 2022. Now it’s beginning to pay off.
What air defense? The FAB glide bombs are being delivered with impunity, hundreds of tons this month alone. The Ukes even fired their air defense spokesman today. Not a single lie about a Russian plane being shot down in two weeks.
Probably not such a good idea for the frogs to go there, if there’s nothing to defend them.
Think about it, Little Nepoleon.
.
It sucks.
Why don’t you go for a peace treaty, Ukraine?
Maybe Joe can beg South Korea and Japan again, to send them another shipment.
I may disagree with the Pope on some things. But I think he's right on this issue.
. Hardly, and they got plenty of ammo and we don't. Can you say Corrupt?

"Shifting focus to an international perspective, in 2023, the United States spent a towering $905.5 billion on defense, more than twice what the rest of NATO spends ($397.7 billion).
Meanwhile, U.S. rivals and adversaries collectively spent an estimated $301.6 billion, with China accounting for approximately $219.5 billion and Russia for $74.8 billion. In fact, U.S. defense spending accounted for over 40 percent of the global total for military expenditures. "
Let the Eeeewww-Yyyy000uuuuu buy the ammo.
“”””And we haven’t done anything in our factories.””””
Except increase production and open new factories.
Most people with knowledge of that claim at least 4 times for shells and the Russians are still increasing production, and not just shells.
Advantage goes to Putin.
“Ukraine is losing - send them money so they can survive!!!”
“Ukraine is winning - send them money so they can finish the job!!!”
Of course they are dwindling, the way Vlad has been eliminating Ukie Air Defences has been spectacular. 4-5 US $$$ Patriot systems already “ Kaput” as the Ukie Nazis would say.
Bradley’s, M113’s, M777, Strykers, M1’s, Challengers, Leopards….all flushed down the stench filled Ukie toilet….up next on Vlad’s chopping block- F-16’s.
Thanks Joe, you and your war cheerleaders are doing a fine job at demilitarizing the Ukies….post war analysis will be absolutely stunning.
Things are rough all over. I, myself, am currently struggling with an ammo crisis of my own. Or I would help out.
