"They’ve just been given more F-16s than they had MiG-29s and Su-27s"
Seven months later...
The whole point is to use them with standoff weapons.
They are useful for countering cruise missiles and delivering munitions like SDB’s (Small diameter bombs, like Russian glide bombs but longer ranged and more accurate). Plus a range of other NATO ordnance.
Because the US and etc dragged their feet. The NATO countries involved had pledged their aircraft at the time. Their generosity was not reciprocated by the other NATO parties involved, notably the Biden administration.
It should be no surprise to anyone that the US administration is incompetent in every way, even when pursuing their desires.
The US is recruiting too few pilots TO train, is what I understand.
The Ukrainians likewise have air superiority over Ukraine.
Nothing has really changed since @March 2022. Russian aircraft cant overfly Ukrainian airspace.
Where’s Davidov, or whatever the dork’s name is?
More so, it appears that training for the pilots at Feteşti Air Base in Romania, situated 150 kilometers east of Bucharest, has suffered delays.

Sadly, there was a very large active F-16 training exercise yesterday.
They’d best not be using NATO airfields in Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia or Poland.

Sadly, they are building a huge NATO base in Romania.
Oh really? Whatis your source?
“In addition, the publication claims that Ukrainian pilots have not yet arrived at the training center at the Romanian Feteşti air base, 150 kilometers east of Bucharest, where they were supposed to receive flight training on F-16s.”
The publication writes that the F-16 fighter jets are ready, and pilot instructors are waiting at a new training center in Romania.
