Electric vehicles are totally unworkable as main stream technology in the near term future.

People are learning that very quickly as they try to set up charging stations in their homes.

The cost to upgrade your electrical service can be very expensive and the power line feeds from the power plants can only supply perhaps 25% of the homes with the upgrade before the physical power lines themselves are maxed out.

To supply more than 25% homes in a given development the entire power distribution system from the power plant must be replaced including power lines, poles, underground conduit, power substations, transformers and such.

This may work in a limited number of high end developments but soon the power plant capacity itself is maxed out.

To implement electric cars as per the Biden Mandate, America would have to more than double it's power generation capacity (at a time when Biden is forcing many power plants to shut down) and increase it's power distribution network capacity by a factor of 3.

It took us a century to build the capacity we have and there is no way we can increase that by a factor of 3 in a decade at the national level.

It's simply impossible.

The point isn’t to have everyone using electric cars; the point is to have no one using cars.

“To implement electric cars as per the Biden Mandate, America would have to more than double it’s power generation capacity (at a time when Biden is forcing many power plants to shut down)”

Well now there you went and figured it out. The only solution is 15 minutes cities of course.

IF someone owns an apartment complex with 60 unit-—& local laws demand 2 parking spaces per apartment-—

That equals 120 charging stations-—to JUST ONE LOCATION

A group of apartments in one area of a city==TOTAL power shortage.

My position has always been that there is a very niche market that electric vehicles can support. They are not for everyone, and never can be.

if you have a routine commute for a short distance, have a garage and don’t need to go somewhere at any given time, then, electric vehicles may be an option. For the rest of the people who may live in a condo, apartment or not have a garage to park it inside, and have varying driving habits. The technology simply isn’t there and can’t be there by the very nature of relying on batteries for propulsion versus starting an engine.
