We have targets in the UK, France, Canada among other countries. It is common sense to have war plans for every possible situation.
Russia will likely follow the same plan they had back in the 70s: high/low bursts staggered north/south, east/west across the county; that way all infrastructure, all cities, most military bases are destroyed; hitting individual targets invites failure, blanketing the country ensures success.
Then whatever the initial wave missed the resulting massive firestorms and firestorm tornadoes will finish off. Oxygen will be massively depleted across the country and the northern hemisphere.
No one escapes. Casualties will be most of the population, and the survivors will wish they had died.
Seeing most of the targets, I am now convinced a war with Russia is a great idea! /s

And would miss by a light year. Our system is designed to go independent for retaliation so they can’t stop it. Intial Nuclear attack by either the US or Russia is worthless. All the targets have been in the system for a few generations.
If you had the opportunity to watch the movie Wargames, all the scenario listings running on the computer were every planned nuclear strikes there are, hundreds. That was why the computer said there was no winner, so why play the game.
This article is manure and is an effort to scare the public when the people have no say in it anyway. These are world leaders playing monopoly with real buildings. (Or the destruction of them)

Russia is not going to nuke us or go to war against us. They are culturally and phisophically very close to us. china on the other hand cares nothing for us, our traditions, or our culture and they would be glad to get us out of the way.

I believe our Defence Sec said if Ukraine does not prevail, NATO WILL go to with Russia. Almost as if the decision has already been made.
