Whether intentional or not. Unlike a primary, I can’t see Boebert running in a special election when she is currently in office, and any incumbent always has advantage to a seat once occupied.

Gingrich presided over the biggest loss of seats in Congress by an opposition party in US history, losing his Speaker chair. Between his fellow GOP members being angry at him, and not being willing to just be a congressman for the people who elected him a day earlier, he quit. There’s no conspiracy here, just a whiny brat.
