No, you have this wrong, certainly timelines.
China was vehemently anti Soviet. The Soviets offered Mao help against Chiang Kai Shek during their late 1940s civil war and it was rejected firmly. Throughout the 50s Maoists were devoted to the Three Worlds concept.
Chiang’s wife was raised in the US and he stole China’s gold when he fled to Taiwan, declaring that Taiwan, which had been Japanese for 40 years, was now the true China. His people brutalized Taiwan because of the vast reality of Japan culture everywhere he looked. From there, with the money bought with gold, he sent his wife to the US to successfully buy all sorts of US congress critters and molded US policy into the absurdity of not accepting that China was China. It took decades to undo what that corruption did.
But this is digression. The reality is the US is on the wrong side of history. The majority of the people of the world are not anti Russian. That’s just the way it works when China and India are aligned.
It’s a VERY long term dangerous position for the US. US shale oil is going to run short long before Russia’s vast Bazhenov shale even begins to be tapped. We will be begging for oil from them someday.
Oil decides domination and the future doesn’t look good.
Quite a lot of people were saying that the US was “on the wrong side of history” in 1962. Including a lot of its erstwhile friends, sometimes for precisely opposite reasons.
US “proven” oil reserves are at about 40,000 million barrels. The US produces about 4,000 million barrels/year.
The US is “proving” new reserves at about 2,000 million barrels per year.
I make it that the proven reserves are good for 20 years. That is, if the “proven” reserves only increase at the decadal average rate.
Which wont happen, as “proven” reserves are fictional. Estimates of recoverable petroleum including shale oil reserves are upwards of 800,000 million barrels, and that number is also increasing.
That gives the US 200 years of petroleum.
