American missionaries trapped in Haiti pleaded for rescue on Tuesday, reporting constant gunfire around their hideaway and corpses rotting in the streets. The group’s leader said the only assistance they have received from the Biden administration was advice to “be safe.”
“Okay, well, that’s not really helpful,” Jill Dolan of the group Love A Neighbor said of the response she received from the U.S. Embassy when she asked for help getting her family out of Haiti.
“My fear is that we will be caught in the middle of something really dangerous. We’re already on the front lines of it; we’re in a bad area. It’s kind of depressing. The gunfire never stops,” Dolan told the New York Post on Tuesday.
Dolan and her family are holed up in a “makeshift motel” in the capital city of Port-au-Prince, where the worst battles of Haiti’s immense gang war have been fought. She and her family founded Love a Neighbor — a nonprofit missionary charity, based in Washington State — to help manage a small orphanage for children abandoned or sold by their impoverished parents.
Dolan said she was on her way out of Haiti to attend a wedding in Florida with her husband and adopted teenage children when gangs attacked the airport, causing all commercial flights to be canceled.
“We’ve contacted agencies to extract us out. They have just said, ‘It’s way too dangerous where you are; you have to stay put,’” she told CBS News on Wednesday.

What an ignorant response. This isn't about the bible, it's about staying out of hellholes like Haiti where your life is in constant danger. Only an idiot would go there as a civilian. And yes, those people wanting to be evacuated are idiots. They should never have gone there in the first place. Now they expect other people to put their lives on the line to get them out because they are idiots. Selfish idiots at that.

There are many spiritual deserts in the US with the need for connection with God as well as needing help in transforming their communities to reflect faith and christian precepts.
I respect Scott Pressler for his efforts to help those communities & the homeless, for helping people get engaged in their communities and to vote.

To the contrary, they planted seeds, and that is exactly what Jesus preached. They weren’t wasting money at all.
There are thousands of missionaries right here in the US doing the same thing, planting seeds.
We plant the seeds, and God waters them.

I'm smart enough to stay out of countries where anarchy reigns and no one is safe. If a bible takes you there maybe you aren't reading it correctly. Those people stuck there are idiots, plain and simple. I don't need a bible to realize that.

The day may come when you would like some help to get out of a difficult situation.
These missionaries are helping many orphan children.
Our government has adopted a religion in which it is the government’s job to take care of everyone in need all around the world. But this is the job of religion and charity.
The US State Department issued a security alert urging Americans to leave Haiti due to the country’s state as of March 3rd. These folks were on their way home but got caught in the violence that stopped air traffic.
Some people choose to spend their spare time and resources getting drunk in Margaritaville and others choose to help those in need, like these folks who live in the US but make weeks-long trips to help others. Ordinarily, the State Department works to help Americans in foreign countries escape when things like this happen. This is intentional by the current Biden/Obama regime.
It certainly does not reflect well on your beliefs to side with the current administration to abandon Americans who are NOT spending your tax dollars to help others.
You don’t have to send them any money. You don’t have to get your butt out of your chair to do something. You don’t have to praise them for their work. You don’t have to make ANY sacrifice at all on their behalf. You don’t even have to pray for their safety. But it would be nice if you could just shut your mouth about them. It’s the least you could do.
The American Missionaries are on their own if they're in a place like Haiti or Somalia.
If it was in Cauro, Egypt. Then yes, we need to get them out.
But Haiti and Somalia are known $#itholes. If you want to go there to help, you can be a martyr.

That’s not true. Christ traveled away from His hometown because it was far less fruitful than other places. This travel involved many disciples and all of the food and logistics to do it. So, it cost a lot of money.

My father did exactly what you said when I was growing up in Memphis. He took me and my brother with him into the all-black housing project a few miles form our house to reach the kids and their families. He brought many of them to our home and church and even family vacations. He said to me that if the American church refused to go into the world as Christ commanded then God would bring them here to hear the Gospel even if this mass immigration was a judgment from God. And that’s what happened. Too bad America is continuing to fail at the mission to preach the Gospel. America might not have much of a purpose on this earth pretty soon.
God may be sparing a final judgment and end of America because of a few folks like these missionaries. Meanwhile, armchair quarterbacks have nothing to offer but criticism. What are you doing for the kingdom of God?

The day may come when you and yours are in desperate need and no help comes for you. When that day comes, just think back and contemplate your harsh remarks about people who are sacrificing to help others and remind yourself, “Yeah, I’m getting exactly what I deserve.”
We can’t help every fool on the planet. Even if they’re Americans. You shouldn’t go to North Korea. But if you’re there. Good luck.

North Korea is a completely different story. We don’t even have an embassy there.
The State Department just issued the advisory for Americans to leave Haiti, and that’s what these folks were doing. But they were abandoned by this anti-American administration.
Quit siding with this administration against good Americans.
I get your point. But I never thought about going to Haiti. Even Trump said that Haiti’s a %#ithole.
Haiti is certainly one of the most corrupt nations on the planet. And being born into that part of the world is a horrific fate.
The Clintons have a long connection to Haiti. Some of it has been for personal enrichment, but some is just odd. For example, they spent their honeymoon there.
Maybe I’m a conspiracy theorist since I have no proof, but I suspect it has been for a cheap supply of children and babies for Satanic rituals including human sacrifice. Nothing about the way the Clintons lived their lives suggests a hint of any compassionate reason for their involvement.
Anything is possible. And the Clintons were connected to Jeffrey Epstein.
