First I’ve heard of this; don’t know if it is true.

After West Point turned its back on General Lee, I suspect eliminating the words “duty honor country” is the next logical thing for them to do.

Why would someone go to all that trouble to write the article if it was fake. The article references two publications and refers to a first person account of a Board of Visitors meeting and your conclusion is, if it’s true? Really?

Do you need affidavits or do you prefer video or would an oath suffice by the author? You can always google...it takes 10 seconds for you to confirm, but would you believe those websites.

Duty, Honor, Country continues to be West Point's motto. That has not changed.

The mission statement changes somewhat frequently. The motto was added to the Mission Statement for the first time in 1998 and retained when it was revised again in 2005. The new Mission Statement reads:

“To Build, Educate, Train, and Inspire the Corps of Cadets to be Commissioned Leaders of Character committed to the Army Values and ready for a Lifetime of Service to the Army and Nation.”

It's very similar to previous Mission Statements. Here's some examples since 1925.
